Thanks - ideas noted. I do actually like the MESBG figures, of which I have quite a few, dating back to its early years, and it also appears to be a good game, probably GW’s best, if not the most popular.

If you want to take a look without spending the money, the core rules are freely avaliable. Plus the community has assembled Warcrier (https://warcrier.net/) which lets you take a look at both the rules but all the warbands that have been released so far. Should make it easier to see a force that you like the idea of! Or even better just use the figures you have for an existing faction - the dastardly regular opponent played with a pile of Lord of the Rings goblins.

Also corrected the spelling.

I’m also a primarily historical gamer - at least nominally - who generally prefers fantasy to SF when going off-piste but doesn’t much care for GW’s conception of either. I was nevertheless intrigued by Warcry when it first came out and bought a set of minis though I don’t recall the name of the faction (they’re bare-chested humies with horned helmets and big - obviously - axes, swords and hammers). My early interest in the game wore off without my ever playing it but I may now reconsider. Your description of why you like it and the impact it had may have convinced me to get the rule book and another faction I know nothing about and don’t much like the look of. At any rate I look forward to following your exploration of the game.

BTW, it’s Mordheim, not ‘Mordhiem’.
