Ah boy – with all the Germans up to sneaky tricks, it’s time for some British response. And what better than to bring in a real life Super Solider. Scots and Yorks maybe be joined by her (and other SSR personnel) depending on any possible threat, ready to assist with any sneaky Nazi tricks. By hitting them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And… honestly, not that happy with how she turned out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the model is great. Skull Forge Studios are really knocking it out the park with their multiverse sculpts – each pack is $8.50 and comes with a variety of poses. This one for “Agent London”<\/a> has this static pose (suitable for a leader) as well as some more action packed shield swinging setups. They are scaled for 32mm games, so with a little bit of a rescale and re-support, I printed her at 95% – slightly bigger than the Empress WW2 soldiers, without being comical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My paint job is the problem. I’m mostly happy with how Carter herself came out – the union jack, the leather boots and the basic colours are spot on. The main issues are the face and the shield. The face suffers from me doing it the same way I do the faces for my bulk forces which works for someone in helmet and gear, but less so for a hero character. The shield though – I originally attempted to do it as it is in the Marvel What If cartoon but it’s an awful lot small fine details on the central Union Jack. I attempted to paint it a few times but messed up and painted over, hence why it looks so thick. I eventually gave up, going for an RAF roundel, which I think should work nicely. The problem is… it looks really <\/strong>rough right now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what’s the plan? She’s good enough for the tabletop, passing the “3ft rule” test. But, I’m going to reprint at a slightly higher detail level, do a little more clean up beforehand, improve the style of painting on the face and do the shield more carefully, using the basic roundel design from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
