Another set of models finished, another set I’m really excited to write about! These guys are 3d printed figures made using two of Combat Octopus’s kits – the bodies are from the Eastern European Criminal set with some heads from the MENA Civilians release. After printing on the Elegoo Saturn at 0.03mm, I ended up with a nice set of modular pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason for this combo was wanting to make some figures suitable for Bazi Counter-Espionage teams. Seeing as we’re getting into campaign season (and reading up on some CIA\/JSOC teams in the War on Terror), I’m planning for at least one player to be running various OGA teams to hinder\/help the other more regular players. This of course means they need some OPFOR to get into scuffles with on the streets of Bazistan. My vision for the Bazi CE teams is the classic secret police force – the kind to follow your secret agents through the streets, sidearms in jackets and compact AKs in their cars for when its all kicks off. In contrast to the militias and insurgents, these guys are well trained and worse are probably about to call in other forces such as the various Bazi SF options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meant I had to paint the Eastern Europeans in less than sporty jackets and trousers, rather than the classic tracksuits. Luckily, these figures are nicely designed that with a few colour tweaks, they look more secret spies rather than squatting criminals. I decided to go with some black and brown leather jackets and various tactical pants\/jeans. I also decided to push out some painting skills – using much more drybrushing after the wash to make the jackets and trousers look worn, while finally bringing my skin painting into more than just Vallejo Fleshtone and Agrax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ll probably be painting some more of them soon (with some additional poses thanks to the modular nature, and maybe with a few additional weapons and then it’s time for them to hit the board – definitely feeling a tweaked version of “Our Man on The Ground” that I wrote for Skirmish Sangin.
