Yeah yeah, I’m on hiatus (currently mostly stripping wallpaper and stressing) but that doesn’t stop the parcels from turning up and my hobby life from continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all, good news on the BPRE front – after the issues with my first box of figures<\/a>, Echelon then sent over some replacements<\/a>. After a little panic when it turned out Hermes was delivering them, I successfully managed to get it diverted to my neighbour while I was away. After recovering it, I cracked it open and was very happy to see a set of figures without any of the major defects I spotted in the first set. Plus, I also got a hat and a cap from their merch range<\/a> as a “Sorry for sending you the cursed box”. I’m really looking forward to getting these assembled once my hobby desk is back up, especially after playing with the new cards during my New Year’s gameday<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another parcel came winging its way, this time from Ireland! I had picked up Horatius the Mercenary<\/a>, a limited edition figure from the maker of Famous By Our Swords<\/a>. After ordering it quickly, I messaged the author back and forth and then made a casual “ha ha, hope I don’t buy into ancients” comment as a joke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never do this. Because along with a rather lovely cast resin hero, there were also two victrix frames (one for Celts, one for Armoured Samnites). Now, I’m not sure I’ll be leaping into big battle ancients, but assembling these figures should be a fun project, as well as maybe setting up some more figures for fantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPEAKING of new games systems, a trip to see my Dastardly Regular Opponent to pick up a wallpaper steamer resulted in me coming away with a birthday present! And yep, it’s tiny tiny mechs, all ready to continue what started in our New Year’s gaming day<\/a>. I don’t have time to really dig into them yet, but again, they should be a fun project for once I’m in and settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also one more parcel coming in the next few weeks. I have ordered something custom for myself and my Regular Opponents (to hopefully fix an issue we keep having with games and tokens) so I’ll just be waiting for it arrives. Photos when it does!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
