It’s the start of a new month and we have a pile of new releases from Spectre, plenty of final previews from the host of Patreons and more! Hell, we even have some cool things coming from my favourite 6mm sculptor, so read on for more!<\/p>\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures Releases Remastered Infantry Heavy Firepower and Heavy Armour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I knew Spectre Miniatures<\/a> had a fair few irons in the fire but this week’s release was a WHOLE lot so lets dig in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up we have three remastered units, upgrading some of the first 3D-designed figures Spectre released with modified and improved replacements better suited to being produced in resin. The three sets are the Criminal Heavies (in cast resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>), Agents QRF (in cast resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>) and Aftermath Killteam (in cast resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>). These sets are not exactly ancient (the QRF and Killteam were from 2023 while the Heavies are from all the way back in 2021) but there have been some major changes to these sets. The Criminal heavies are now wearing large plate carriers with shoulder and groin protectors rather than the relatively lightweight look of the originals with their lightweight chest rig, while at the same time, the specialists with the shotgun and grenade launchers have been replaced with lightweight SMGs. The changes to the Agents QRF are a bit more subtle, with a few additional bits of equipment mounted to their webbing and making them look ready for anything. I’m going to have a more in-depth look at some of the changes in an upcoming SITREP, so stand by for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up the weight classes, we have two new technical weapons. The BMP turret (3D Printed<\/a> and STL<\/a>) is an update to an old favourite, much improved with a properly sized turret and armoured compartment underneath. If you prefer putting rounds down range, the Vulcan mount (3D Printed<\/a> and STL<\/a>) gives you a rotary cannon ready to shred the enemy with firepower and your suspension with the recoil. The Vulcan also includes an optional crew figure. Both systems fit Technical Alpha with no issues but may require some mods to fit the smaller bed of the Technical Bravo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, at the top of the Firepower tree, we have four Russian AFVs ready for the tabletop. To cart your infantry around, an improved BMP-1 (Cast Resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>) is partnered with the brand new BMP-2 (Cast Resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>) to give you both of the main Russian IFV options. For heavier firepower, the T-55 (Cast Resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>) and its upgraded T-55 AMV variant (Cast Resin<\/a> and STL<\/a>) should give your less well-equipped forces some close-range support. For the STL collectors, some of these vehicles are a little on the expensive side<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, I also thought I had double vision when I saw this preview go up on the weekend. As part of the World Revolution Kickstarter <\/a>coming soon, Bobmack3d <\/a>is including a T-55A, ideal for all your early Cold War forces or modern groups lacking the gear to use a T-72 or more recent armour. The A variant is being included in the basic models but we’ll likely see another variant among the Kickstarter stretch goals when it launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s interesting is that the painted examples also appeared on the Flank March Miniatures<\/a> page which may explain a missing piece from the preview – who is making the crew figures for this release. Previously Bobmack3d supported the Lionheart Kickstarter Flank March by providing a vehicle add-on, so it seems that venture was successful enough to lead to another collaboration. Flank March is also working on Soviet Motostrelki, so it’s likely we may see another chance to pick up some Soviet armour soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kickstarter has been slightly delayed and will now be launching on the 19th of July. If you want to sign up, the preview page is already live<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White Dragon Miniatures Releases A New Section For The Russians<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One thing I’m always happy to see is when the quieter people on my watch list return with a brand-new release. White Dragon Miniatures<\/a> has returned from the quiet zone with a new release in the Courage in Contact<\/a> range, including the final section in the Russia Motor Rifles release, coming over two years after the original sets came out. These two sets bring the range up to three sections, meaning we’re one pack away from having a full platoon worth of Motostrelki. Pack 5<\/a> contains the squad leader, PKM, loader and rifleman-medic while Pack 6<\/a> comes with an RPG gunner, loader, AK with underslung grenade launcher and a simple rifleman – as with all WDM sets, the packs all come in either 28m or 20mm, as well as a selection of head types to match the rest of the range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enemy Spotted Studios Announces Iraqi CTF for July<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Enemy Spotted Studios<\/a> has announced the INX QRF release for July, available from today. The Iraqi Counter Terror Force is a set I’ve actually wanted for quite a while (and just missed my order from them). These guys are roughly inspired by CTS – ISOF, modern Iraq’s primary unit designed to deal with terrorist cells and most famous for being the first division into the city of Mosul during the 2016 battle. This set includes a mixture of older Western equipment (such as M4A1s and NVG Monoculars) and Russian kit, all wrapped up in plate carriers and fast helmets. These figures are available on the INX Tribe over on MyMiniFactory<\/a> for anyone who signs up during July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban Scatter Gaming Goes To The Bathroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Urban Scatter Gaming<\/a> is still up to his shenanigans, assembling a brand new set ideal for detailing your wargaming terrain. This time, it’s a bathroom set<\/a> – not the most exciting when you announce it but actually, there is a great set of assets included, ranging from the bath and toilet to multiple basing types, floor and wall panels and even a shower cubicle. If you want to make your tabletop a little more lived-in, this set is perfect to decorate one of the more important rooms in the house for a very reasonable price. The set is already up on the Urban Scatter Gaming Gumroad<\/a> for \u00a34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games Releases South American Special Forces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games<\/a> has released the set for June<\/a>, providing the police force from last month with some highly trained support. Bringing a set of soldiers armed with M4s and dressed up in combat gear, this team includes a shield operator, breached with a short 870 shotgun, a light machine gunner for fire support, a marksman and the most dangerous weapon – the Fur Missile (or a military working dog). These guys look spot, their equipment an older style than their American or European counterparts while still looking very capable. These figures were distributed to the Patrons today, with both the Assault Set and Full Set coming to the Gumroad soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus Previews Final Two Poses For Marksman Set<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus<\/a> is preparing the final figures for this month’s releases giving us two more sharpshooters for the gaming table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we have a prone figure resting their marksman rifle on their pack<\/a>, ideal for getting a cover position set up. With rolled sleeves and regular combat trousers, this guy is going to be an evocative figure while among the right terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The final model is a good counterpart for all the shooty boys in the set, giving you a spotter using a scope on its tripod<\/a>. With one hand casually resting on his thigh while adjusting the scope, this guy looks great. Putting all the poses together (the marksman on tripod, a shooter in a seated position, the prone shooter above and this spotter), there are plenty of options for assembling them to support the main force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, based on polling, we’ll be seeing another month of marksmen to add to the collection, bringing both female shooters and possibly some more covert fighters. More details coming soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flytrap Digital Deploys The QRF to MMF and Patreon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flytrap Digital <\/a>has announced that this month’s release for Gunslinger is going to be a Ranger QRF<\/a>. Armed with the very latest in US military hardware (literally seeing as they are rolling the XM7 and XM250 LMGs), this set of 9 figures matches up to the current ORBAT (as detailed by Battle Order<\/a>). These figures have all the gear you’d expect from a modern-day raiding force, including the M320 grenade launcher, M72 LAW, breaching tools and more. These figures are in movement, with weapons either in high or low ready to prepare for combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the set that Patrons <\/a>and Tribes <\/a>members will be receiving for their monthly fee, there is also a night ops version coming to the MyMiniFactory store<\/a>. This will be a separate item available in the store (although patrons will get their 25% discount), adding suppressors for all the XM7s in the squad and night vision goggles as well as a few pose tweaks. No release date is listed for this set but the main Gunslinger release is coming on the 4th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Is All Ready To Release The MAT-V<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’ve had it previewed over the last few weeks but it’s time. The new month means that patrons of the Modern Miniatures Patreon<\/a> will soon be having a MAT-V appearing in their inbox. The final preview<\/a> also shows off both turret options that will be included. There are also a few little details including many of the modular pieces to let you kit the vehicles out. I’m going to also be picking this up to add to the library so thoughts coming soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turnbase Miniatures Deploys June Release From Vietnam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Turnbase Miniatures<\/a> ended the month by releasing this month’s theme – Vietcong Fighters and NVA Support<\/a>. Tier 2 delivers five figures armed with a collection of era-suitable weapons while Tier 3 upgrades to also include the Type-63 amphibious light tank. It sounds like this will be the first of a few months with the Vietnam theme, so stand by for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lazy Forger Prepares An Urban Hellscape<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Outside of the usual folks, we’re going to close out this week’s updates with news from the Lazy Forger<\/a>, a company releasing some of the best pieces for 6mm gaming and the devil\/angel on my shoulder trying to tempt me into the smaller scale. This isn’t actually that hard as the pieces he’s coming out with are awesome and have appeared here in the past<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, he’s releasing something that will go a long way to filling out the modern battlefields in a small scale – ruined tower blocks<\/a>. Even better, these are modular pieces, comprising of 5-6 pieces and with a pile of variations. As with the modular high school previously released, I’m very excited to see what you can make with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
