Spectre Miniatures and Black Site Studios Announce US Distribution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a joint operation, two of the companies usually mentioned in this news series are working together. Spectre Miniatures<\/a> and Black Site Studios<\/a> have worked together in the past (Black Site assisted in the layout on Spectre’s rulebook while Spectre helped out with figures for Breacher) but last week they have announced a new stage – US Distribution<\/a>. This means that you might now be finding Spectre products in FLGS across the US, so potentially massive savings on postage and customs. Full details will come once people start signing up to the trade link under the post on Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin Miniatures\u00a0Release All The Minis!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Austin Miniatures<\/a> has hammered their way through getting the end result of their Kickstarter “Devil Dogs, Grunts and Frogmen”, releasing all of the promised sets (both core and stretch goals) to Gumroad in the last few days. This means that the Army NGSW Squad<\/a>, USMC Infantry<\/a>, Neptune’s Spear Assault Team<\/a>, German Infantry<\/a>, British Infantry<\/a>, Australian Infantry<\/a> and American Militia<\/a> are now all out and downloadable on Gumroad, with each clocking in at $30 for a full squad worth of figures, often with multiple weapon systems to make for a pretty balanced starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fun one to discuss is that last set, the American Militia. This is a slightly different take on the usual Operator look that the rest of the sets in the Kickstarter went for. Instead, we have a group of American fighters with a variety of weapon systems, both AR15s but also a pile of .308 battle rifles (I think the sculptor had a good time digging through the weapons he’s done). My personal standouts have to be the figures with the M250 LMG (although the description of “captured” does make me concerned for the setup where these guys are being used) but the king is the figure with the M79 grenade launcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban Scatter Gaming Releases The IEDs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

As previewed last week, Urban Scatter Gaming<\/a> has released a pile of tokens ideal for marking Bombs and IEDs on the tabletop. There are 7 items designed for the tabletop with an additional pair of pieces designed to sit in the back of a Spectre or Miska Miniatures pickup. There is also a good mix of types of IED, ranging from three artillery shells with a phone detonator, a selection where that basic concept is updated with a canister for extra effect, all the the way up to barrels of material linked up with a car battery and a land mine as a detonator. I also like the fact we have a few partially covered, ideal for hiding on the tabletop or to really show how up the creek the players are. The set is currently available on the Urban Scatter Gaming Gumroad<\/a> but I have a feeling there may be a print-on-demand seller for these coming soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games Announces More News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following on from the update at the start of the month, Black Hills Games<\/a> has announced another set of news items. It seems that BHG is going to be expanding outside of its current Patreon model with the launch of a full website to sell both Patreon STLs (a move away from the current Gumroad page) as well as physical miniatures and other pieces. More details are coming in November and December but it’s definitely exciting to see BHG growing enough to make this move. What’s also great is that this change will also provide a benefit to long-term members of the Patreon – more details coming soon but discounts and bonuses based on length of subscription sounds like a good way to say thanks to long-term supporters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus Announces Gothic Serpent Launch Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus<\/a>, just before I started writing this post, has released a new update on the Somalia 1993 project<\/a>; it’s also the best type of update, the date when we can get our hands on it! Gothic Serpent is going to be launching on November 7th over on the Frontiers system on MyMiniFactory meaning that you’ll be able to start printing your Rangers and Somalis then. The pre-marketing page is already up<\/a> announcing that the core set will include 8 US Rangers and 8 Somali Militamen, with additional elements coming soon. As always with CO, these sets are modular, letting you swap heads, change out weapons and pick your poses by combining pieces together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve been in the Combat Octopus channel on the Ultramodern Wargaming Discord, you may have seen a few other preview images floating around as the Somalis are getting ready – sadly super hench Somalia didn’t fit the news layout so you’ll have to wait to see him. These show off the type of posing and character details for the fighters, including the mix of rifles and civilian clothing. I can definitely see these guys being put to use in plenty of places, made even easier by their lack of heads. It’s looking like this campaign is going to be great for all sort of Ultramodern gaming, even outside of the original focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Shows Off Landies And A Pile Of Releases<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures<\/a> came in clutch with a new update LITERALLY as I sat down to write my weekly post (I fear they are slowly learning my production times). That aside, the update is very exciting, showing off the Landies that will be coming with November’s release. The Civilian vehicle and the WMIK will be included in the main release however the pickup variant will be arriving as a separate item in the MMF store<\/a>. However, Patrons will get it for 50%, with a code being released at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And speaking of the store<\/a>, there have been a set of new releases to add to your collection. Highlights for me include the M1083 cargo truck<\/a> (the six-wheel version of the previously released M1078<\/a>) and the armoured Federales pickup truck<\/a> but there are also billboards<\/a>, scatter terrain<\/a>, modular addons for structures<\/a> and more. Patrons will find a 10% discount code in the latest update post, ideal to help save a little bit more and get all the latest pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turnbase Miniatures Announces Philippines Special Forces Coming This Month<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Turnbase Miniatures<\/a> has released a preview of this month’s release, treating us to an A-Pose of a Filipino Special Forces Operator<\/a>. This guy looks ready for action, with a mixture of tactical equipment with a certain cool factor (the rolled sleeves and lack of earpro definitely makes them look different from a Western team member). No details on what the squad will include weapon-wise, but this is a set that Turnbase has been looking forward to doing for a while!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
