Apologies for the delay in this week’s post, I didn’t expect myself to be reading through EU Regulations around product safety. But here I am, making sure that when I write something on this page, I’m not 100% speaking out of my behind. Luckily, in addition to the latest regulatory updates, there are also some positives to talk about, such as more previews than you can shake a stick at, ongoing crowdfunding campaigns and even a brand new Patreon. In less good news, there seems to be a potential issue for EU-based wargamers ordering from UK stores. With the introduction of new GPSR rules coming in on the 13th of December, several UK-based sellers (including Bad Squido Games<\/a>, Charlie Foxtrot Models<\/a>, Checkpoint Miniatures<\/a>, Under Fire Miniatures<\/a> and more) have announced they will be ceasing sales to the EU (and in some cases Northern Ireland as well) in the next few weeks due to the additional paperwork and cost of aligning with these regulations. There may be a solution in the works but for now, you have only a very limited time to get anything ordered to the EU before service is suspended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures Previews The Partisans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures<\/a> kicks us off this week with a brand new preview (unless of course you’re on the Spectre Patreon<\/a> and read up on one of the recent posts<\/a>). These figures are part of a new Partisan range that Spectre will be releasing, giving a set of figures with irregular clothing, blending modern equipment and clothing with older items – such as weapons from the Second World War. The set above has both German and Soviet systems (the MG42 gunner and STG user both rocking caps that make them look more like some alternative history Germans), all of which are older than their users. I’m intrigued by this range – it’s always nice to see pieces that are different from the usual “Fast Helmet-Plate Carrier-AR15” but it will be interesting to see how this range as a whole comes out (especially when it’s all painted up). I do however think that they will work really well when mixed in with more modern troops, just to add a different flavour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ZAPAD 1 Continues It’s (Flank) March<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Following on from their initial launch last week, Flank March<\/a> has been storming ahead with their latest Kickstarter ZAPAD1<\/a>. Since the launch last week, they have managed to storm through the goals you can see above, unlocking plenty of items for free (such as the Senior Officer, Political Officer and Medic) and paid-for add-ons (including the D-30 howitzer which will be a cool thing on the field). In fact, as I write this, they have also unlocked a pair of Downed Pilots, giving you some perfect scenario figures. The Kickstarter is running for another week and it looks like it will be slamming through its goals, making its All-In Tier well worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warfighter Miniatures Shows Off More Figures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Warfighter Miniatures<\/a> has dropped a few more previews of the upcoming Kickstarter<\/a>, showing off the wide variety of figures coming when it launches in the future. No descriptions on any of these images, but you can certainly see a wide variety among them, with uniformed troops, gangsters and even a fireteam of nuns it seems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games Reveals More News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games<\/a> has put out a new update with a few very exciting announcements. The big one is that Black Hills Games is now on My MiniFactory<\/a>, with the collection being slowly added. The other major one is that the new release is on its way, with the collection of drone operators for various sets already released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus Continues Operation Gothic Serpent and Prepares To Release The Prisoners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First up for Combat Octopus<\/a>, the Gothic Serpent campaign<\/a> is still running. So far we’ve almost unlocked both of the additional head packs, with plenty of stretch goals still to hit. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying playing around with the core set, so I’ve got a vested interest in getting a few more goals hit so I can get the suppressive fire on the board. The campaign is still running for another 9 days, so plenty of time to jump in<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, outside of the campaign, the Convict release is imminent (and probably about to come out moments after I send this post out). As well as various bodies, and weapon options (apparently with one figure having 9 torso variations) we also got a preview of some new heads<\/a>. There is a good array of options (including two more memey ones) and as usual there will be plenty of use for them on other Combat Octopus releases… although maybe not the one in the mask, I don’t foresee that on other bodies unless I’m planning a Halloween game…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goggles Miniatures Launches A New Patreon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we have a new arrival on the News Stand – Goggles Miniatures<\/a>. You may have spotted some sculpting previews on the Ultramodern Discord recently but he has now launched a Patreon<\/a>. Promising a pair of modular vehicles each month, this first month delivers the BTR-80 family (with both Autocannon and HMG turrets) and a Stryker. In addition, at a higher tier, you can also get the seasonal releases which for this first period delivers a Stryker MGS and a Nona SVK, ideal for direct firepower. The tier pricing seems pretty favourable for multiple vehicles a month, and as you can see above there are plenty of vehicles to come along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
