February has started, so it’s time to talk about a brand new set of releases from all the usual suspects. We in fact have a few new people popping up or re-emerging from their quiet to show off some new things for fans of Ultramodern gaming. New additions this week include Patrick Miniatures showing off some buildings, Black Site Studios deploying its Breachers and WarDaddy Studios showing off its tiny soldiers. Black Site Studios Releases Digital Files For Breacher<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After a successful campaign last year, Black Site Studios<\/a> has released all of the STL files<\/a> that came out alongside Breacher. As someone who got their pre-order and has already mostly printed his team of operators (as sculpted by Spectre’s Steve May), I think these are some fantastic figures for those wanting something more characterful for their 28mm tabletop. However, what I wasn’t expecting was the addition of the gentleman above, an alternative operator that wasn’t included in my specific bundle. I still need to actually play the game, but if you want to jump in, now seems a pretty good time. You can find them over on the Black Site Studios website<\/a>, as well as physical figures if you don’t have a printer of your own<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3d’s Kickstarter Lionheart Rolls On<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3d<\/a>‘s latest Kickstarter, Lionheart<\/a>, continues to roll on. We’ve managed to hit over \u00a315,000 (roughly $18,000) which should (due to the interesting mathematical calculations BobMack3d do with the add-ons) mean at the very least we have an updated FV432 to add to the tabletop (and hopefully the Warrior with Milan). There will be roughly 4 days left on the campaign when this post goes live, so if you want to add these vehicles to your collection, you’ll want to jump in over on Kickstarter<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios Previews Team Direwolf<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios<\/a> has been hard at work on its new releases and I’ve got a preview image, released with permission from their Work in Progress files. You may recognise these guys as the rest of the SAS-style troops from the previous preview, except this time with the full squad, KS-1s at the ready combined with a KAC LAMG for lightweight, highly mobile firepower. If you were a fan of the INX models from the ESS days, you can see that a lot of the style and detail is still here. These guys will form one of the teams in the new starter set and we can look forward to more details soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games Releases UN Peacekeeping Forces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games <\/a>last week (in fact literally moments after I uploaded last week’s coloum released his latest set – the UN Peacekeeping Forces<\/a>. With bulky body armour and armed with either the FAL or AK (except for the gunner with a PKM), these forces would be ideal for any number of mid to low tier force around the world, with the correct paint scheme. The set also includes a mix of six heads, including PASGAT style helmets, beret, boonie hat and even a turban. IU think this is a great set if you’re looking for a slightly different force force for the table, while every pose having FAL and AK variants means this is a great starting point for a collection. If you want a set of your own, you can find them over on the Black Hills Games Gumroad<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus Previews The Deniable Ops Assault Team<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus<\/a> has continued his work on the second half of the Muddy Deniables set, giving us a second close-quarters operator for the Assault team. In fact, these two are designed to stack together, either as the NCO pointing out a target or with a hand on the shield operator’s back to provide support. He’s also got a very pimped-out PPK-20 for all your room-clearing needs. With each preview, patrons of CO have been receiving some little designer notes, detailing the thought process for these figures which has been a great insight into the considerations that designing a single figure requries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrons have also received some sneak previews of all four operators in the set and it looks like it’s going to be an awesome one for building some CQB operators with some poses that would look great nestled among your buildings. As always with Combat Octopus sets, we can expect plenty of additional guns for each figure, with AK carbines and SMGs). We’ve still got two more figures to finish, but I think that CO is very happy so far with the squad he’s assembled so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goggles Miniatures Releases Russian MRAPs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Goggles Miniatures<\/a> has returned from his break and updated his Patreon with this rather wonderful vehicle. As previewed back in January, the Falcatus MRAP is now out as a seasonal release for people backing at that level. In addition, items from November 2024 (the Stryker and BTRs) are now available through the Patreon store<\/a>, perfect if you need to catch up on the releases so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Shows Off This Month’s Beauty Shots<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures<\/a> has been as punctual as always and released this month’s releases bang on time. First up for the terrain folks, we have this Soviet rural house. Coming in both FDM and resin variants (letting you use your preferred tool to get them on the table), the house would be ideal for your Eastern European table, be it standing in for The Zone, Tarkov or maybe even an active warzone. You also get the fence you can see in the beauty shot above, ideal for adding some linear obstacles around the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Miniatures tier, this month you get a four-man combat diving team recently arrived out of the water and ready for action. The four figures includes a mix of poses and weapons, including an NCO, a forward scout with a suppressed pistol and MP5, an assaulter with a suppressed M4 and a gunner with an LMG. The boat behind them is is not included in the tier this month, but patrons will receive a discount when it goes live on the store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Miniatures Releases Ukrainian Suburb Pack<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Miniatures<\/a> has returned to Patreon with a monthly release schedule to deliver some exclusive buildings. This month, we’re looking at a set of Ukrainian buildings<\/a> for the suburbs, ideal for building up semi-urban area for wargaming. As with Patrick’s previous buildings for the region (which were explicitly for the Zone) these buildings have plenty of uses for both military and adventuring games. The set includes four buildings of different shapes – as with all Patrick Miniatures structures, these buildings lack any interior detailing but are able to get printed rapidly. The set also include a wall piece and should be a good starting point to any Ukrainian table. If you want your own set, you can find them over on Patreon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WarDaddy Studios Releases 15mm Eastern Forces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, something a little off the beaten track for my usual coverage that appeared in the Ultramodern Discord. WarDaddy Studios<\/a> is a maker of 15 slightly stylised Ultramodern figures. With a range that already includes Western and Insurgent forces, last week saw the release of the Eastern forces<\/a> with all the gear you could need (including a BMP and riders). These figures (and previous releases) are all on the WarDaddy Studios Patreon<\/a> page, so definitely worth a look if you need something smaller than the usual 28mm guys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
