However, quieter doesn’t mean boring and we have a good selection of items across the Ultramodern niche, such as previews and releases from Spectre Miniatures, Echo Dark Studios, Flank March Miniatures and more! Spectre Miniatures Previews More Russian Releases<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following on from last week’s partial preview, this time we got to see the full team of FSB killers<\/a>. Updating the original classic team from 2018, long-time fans may spot that there have been quite a few adjustments to make them into a much more rounded team. Three of the guys are still rolling the Ash 12 assault rifle, but the other three can provide different roles – a pointman with the RSH-12 revolver and a VANT-VM shield, a grenadier with a GM94 and an operator with a PL-15 pistol (the latter two also carrying AM-17 carbines). That may sound like a lot of letters and numbers but these are a lot of specialist equipment and cutting-edge Kalshnivkov Concern products. All the figures are still dressed in the same non-military style as the original figures, but there is more visible military equipment, such as plate carriers and armour pieces – the ideal items for a team that is about to breach and clear. The good news is that the set is completed and, as you can see on the right, they have already been test printed. They should be out soon, all ready for your tabletop (either from the webstore or as part of the Patreon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another item that had been announced at the start of the month was a Russian ATGM gunner; however, he was missing from the original preview image. That has now been rectified with another preview released on the Spectre Patreon<\/a>, giving us an ATGM system (which I believe is a Konkurs variant), controlled by an operator lying prone behind the launcher. This is one of the few times I’m not going to complain about prone gunners, but if you’re looking for some anti-tank punch for your Russian force, this figure will be out before the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned previously, all of the infantry figures shown this month will be available through both the regular store (as STLs and printed versions) but also through the Spectre Miniatures Patreon<\/a> for \u00a315 (+VAT). It also seems like the Patreon is going to become the main preview source for Spectre so it is definitely worth following them for free if you want to receive updates immediately (or just want to shortcut reading my updates each week).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios Updates POD and Previews More<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios<\/a> has also been busy this week. After launching Blackthorn last week, the new faction is now available over at friend-of-the-blog Desk-Ops<\/a>. This is the cheapest way to get hold of these figures in the EU, saving you from having to import from the US, and also comes with the bonus ability to have them rescaled to a selection of scales. As well as the new figures, several of the older InCountry sets<\/a> have also been added to the print-on-demand service, such as Russian SF<\/a> and Wagner<\/a> in Africa, ideal to expand your collection if you need more operators with AKs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that’s not all. Over on the Echo Dark Studios Discord<\/a>, we have two previews of the next expansion set for Blackthorn. As you can see, these guys are going to add the Javelin ATGM system to the faction, giving you a longer ranged punch against armoured targets or fortified positions. No details on the release date for these guys but more details will be over on the Discord <\/a>(and reported here naturally).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flank March Miniatures Prepares The Big Guns For Reforger<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flank March Miniatures<\/a> is well on the road for Reforger, the next Kickstarter to expand its range of early-1980s Cold War miniatures, and has been continuing its Friday preview post. The good thing about Flank March Kickstarters is that they are usually very complete with providing every bit of support you would want, and in this week’s preview, we get to see the Big Guns<\/a>. Mortars, Heavy Machine Guns, and TOW ATGMs teams are good for delivering the killing blow, with all three teams providing a specific element of support you might need. Each of the teams contains the members it would need, with each one also including all the little touches you’d need (such as ammo boxes and loaders). I had a good chat with Steffan (the man behind the sculpting tool) at Partisan this weekend, and I’m very excited about what else is coming to this Kickstarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban Scatter Gaming Releases More Barrels Than Ever Seen Before<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As Urban Scatter Gaming<\/a> continues his work, this week he’s taken a break from the Middle East to bring instead… barrels<\/a>! Where most STL sellers would provide one or two barrel variations, USG has brought a total of 11 models in this set. With six unique barrel types (such as shrink-wrapped, dented and even knocked over), four grouped pallets (including an updated version of the strapped set from the military cargo) and a wood pallet for filling with your own loads, this pack includes everything you’ll need for some scatter terrain. The other good news is that this set is designed to be printed as either FDM or Resin (although the strapped set works better in resin), giving you options when getting these pieces on the board. As always, it’s already out over on the Urban Scatter Gaming Gumroad<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anvil Digital Previews Apocalyptic Scouts With SVDs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fresh off a month of Apocalyptic Rangers with AKs<\/a>, next month of the Anvil Digital Patreon<\/a> is going back to WW1 style Trench troopers. However, Anvil’s release schedule includes a loyalty reward, designed to keep those people interested in one topic around for the next. June’s release is going to expand the Rangers with some additional specialists. In this case, the specialists are scouts wearing the Russian style ghillie hoods<\/a> over their gear and carrying the SVD sniper rifle, in a selection of poses to show themselves hard at work. Full details of the exact setup will be coming soon, but these are some cool-looking figures – they will also be useful for the toolbox, as Anvil Digital do love their Multi-shell parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Anvil have also released a standalone set over on the Anvil website, ideal for anyone wanting to play Zona Alpha or other Stalker games. This Monsters, Mutants and Anomalies set includes plenty of pieces for whatever you need them for, from rats and dogs all the way up to horrible winged flying things and (more terrifying of all) Snorks. Black Hills Games Delivers News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Black Hills Games<\/a> has updated with a text post giving the news<\/a>. The next set (EOD soldiers) should be coming soon with more details, so stand by if you want to see what’s coming to patrons for this month. The bigger news is that BHG is now available over on MyMiniFactory<\/a> if you’d prefer to reccicve your stuff via the Tribes system. This is the same stuff as the Patreon, but just providing an alternative method of supporting BHG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
