We’re at the end of September, and it’s time for a wrap-up. I think this is the shortest News Stand I’ve done for a while, but the quality bar remains pretty high. We have Spectre, BobMack3D, Echo Dark Studios and Modern Miniatures bringing all we need to keep things exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures Announces Spectre Aftermath<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First up, it’s been less than a month since Spectre Miniatures first mentioned the ruleset on the Patreon, but Spectre Aftermath<\/a> is now up for pre-order, complete with a fancy-looking cover. This D100-based ruleset sounds like a detailed and crunchy system, with systems such as encumbrance and fatigue affecting mobility, while combat includes features such as hit locations and malfunctions. Of course, the Zone also gets a say – radiation, anomalies, and the basic act of surviving in a harsh location will also affect characters. If this sounds familiar, then you’ve probably played Inquistor back in the 2000s – GW’s crunchy RPG-esque tabletop game is much beloved by big chunks of the gaming population and I’m not surprised how that it had an inspiration on Spectre. This does mean that the game is definitely not for multiple squads – this is going to be 3 or 4 characters per side max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To go with the ruleset, there are two teams (the releases we’ve seen over on Patreon as both the Welcome Pack<\/a> and this month’s release<\/a>). There is additionally an Aftermath Starter Set<\/a>, available as both physical and digital options. Along with the rulebook and the figures, the set includes a selection of objective markers to play around with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over on the Patreon<\/a>, we have had some updates. The civilian release should be out later this week, but it should still be available to backers from September. It seems Spectre is also going back to the previous digital sculpts to fill in the gap in the release schedule and is taking requests as to which sets to release. There are plenty of figures in the back catalogue from the first wave of digital sculpts that are currently unavailable (such as the US Deltas and the support elements from the first Insurgent PMC release).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3D Shows Off The Berezhok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Next week sees the launch of the Tanks of the Ukraine War Kickstarter<\/a> from BobMack3D<\/a> and Heroic & Ros, giving both STLs and physical models. This week’s preview is the BMP-2M “Berezhok”, an updated version of the IFV from the 1980s that gives it ATGMs and an automatic grenade launcher to bring the pain. We also saw this model last week, but now we get some detailed images, including the full height cage armour on the vehicle. You can see above the 15mm and the 6mm versions above, including the oversized gun barrels to make sure they don’t immediatly snap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios Launches Black Hawk and Subscription Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Echo Dark Studios<\/a>, in commemoration of Operation Gothic Serpent, has added a limited-time item – a UH-60 Black Hawk<\/a>. This is going to be available until the 10th of October and will be delivered from mid-October. This is not a small vehicle to print, and so the price tag matches it. However, if you’ve wanted a pre-printed version of the Modern Miniatures helicopter for yourself, this is a good option to go with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the company has launched a subscription service on their Discord<\/a>. Using the Discord Payment system and giving you plenty of benefits on the server itself, there are also plenty of add-ons for physical and STL items. From money off STLs and free shipping, the higher tiers also include an exclusive set of figures sent out quarterly. It’s amusing to once again see the people running InCountry have gone for a subscription service to accompany the game (previously Enemy Spotted Studios ran a monthly subscription with a similar offering) and it will be interesting to see the exclusive minis as they come out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Announces Releases For October As Well As Free Figures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Modern Miniatures<\/a> (who made the UH60 model mentioned above) has also announced all the items coming in October’s releases across both Patreon <\/a>and MyMiniFactory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the figures release, we have four new figures for SWAT team. A sniper on overwatch with a bolt action rifle and camping chair, a command with separate hands (or either pointing hand or megaphone depending on the situation), an operator with an MP5 ready to go, and finally a breacher with a battering ram. All four figures have separate heads, giving you plenty of choices on how to run them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To accompany the release, there are a couple of addons. The Kneeling posed sniper (added to the release after being commissioned) is already up on MyMiniFactory<\/a> if you want a less static member of your team. This set also includes a second head option (one with less of a beard). If you’re wanting a first look into the Modern Miniatures style, the Breacher with a SAW is available for free on the store<\/a> to both give you an extra SWAT member for the team. The figure also has a modular head, perfect for kitbashing a slightly different look if you want to make them more heroic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Terrain side of things, this month is a metric ton of all things droned. We’ve seen plenty of things previewed already from the tiny drones and FPV heads, all the way up to computers, workbenches and 3D printers. The two new items from this preview shows off the K-Drone (and its various options, including launch ramp) and the new workshop building gives you somewhere to stash everything. October’s release is going to be sizable, even with the disruption to Modern Miniatures’ usual schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, over on MyMiniFactory, the Modern Miniatures Tribe’s <\/a>release for next month is the Special Forces SUV. This is an upgraded version of the current SUV<\/a> already on the Modern Miniatures store, re-specced for high-performance usage. With a deep water wading snorkel, off-road tires, a bullbar upfront and roof rack for carrying gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
