This week’s post might be a little on the brisk side, as I’m in the middle of a busy time at work. However, that doesn’t stop me from bringing the news in the Spookiest of seasons, and it seems a few of the usual companies are in the right mood for it.<\/p>\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures Unleashes Spectre Outbreak<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As previewed last week (and just in time for spooky season), Spectre Miniatures<\/a> has released a brand new expansion to the Spectre Operations system. Titled Spectre: Outbreak<\/a>, this add-on brings everything you need to add zombies and survivors to your games, letting you blend the two together to have the zeds either as the focus enemy or merely an add-on to your regular games. Much like the last expansion, Cosmic Horror, the rules build upon the core systems but add elements such as terror from horrifying enemies, limited ammo and more needed for that tactical zombie movie vibe. Be aware that this is an expansion and so requires a copy of Spectre Operations as well. It’s available as either a PDF or a physical release right now<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the supplement, the release has also included four sets of figures. The name of the game is zombies, and there is a great selection with the Task Force Zombies and the Zombies sets. Task Force Zombies<\/a> includes four unfortunate ex-operators, while the Zombies <\/a>includes a horde of 12 undead to fill the streets with. Against them, there are two survivor sets previewed last week – four civilian Outbreak Survivors<\/a> and five members of Task Force Survivors<\/a>. Overall, these are some really nice minis – I’m not a big Zombies gaming fan but they definitely provide some of the more dynamic figures for the style (and include some good references to other zombie media). That said, the standouts have to be the Task Force Survivors, who I have already printed for more traditional military use, representing advisors, enablers or ODA types. Apart from the AA-12 man, we’ll have to save him for later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of these sets are available now, either as part of the Spectre Patreon or from the store (as either STLs or physical items). Additionally there are two bundles for Spectre Outbreak’s release; one with just the new items while the other adds the Spectre Operations rulebook included – everything you needed for your “Post Collapse Operations”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Post-Collapse Operations, fans who pre-ordered Spectre Aftermath should have found the PDF of the new ruleset in their inbox last Friday with postal copies going out soon after. I haven’t yet had a chance to dig into it, but it’s both a different beast to Operations but with some similarities in terms of terminology. I’m going to have a little play with it, but if you’re wanting your own copy of this small scale Zone incursion game you can grab it from the store now<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back on the Patreon<\/a>, we have some new releases for those needing some vehicles. The RZR and Dagor have been long awaited from Spectre (as they were one of the first people to release the light RZR back in 2018) and it’s been a very long wait for the DAGOR. These vehicles have been released complete with crew figures (which I believe are sculpted into the seats). Additionally, a Hawkei PMV mounting a Remote Weapon Station has also been been put up for sale. These vehicles are all available as STLs via the Patreon store<\/a> for a reduced price, with a larger release coming at the end of the week on the main store in STL and Physical format.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3D Shows Off The MLTB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3D <\/a>is preparing for ZAPAD-84, the next Kickstarter they are planning for, which will cover later Cold War vehicles<\/a>. We’ve already seen the T-80U and the BTR-80, but this week’s preview is the ubiquitous MTLB. Designed for use as a logistics, towing and utility vehicle, it’s since found itself in constant use in a whole host of additional roles with both additional specialist variants and as armoured troop carriers. These are going to be very useful vehicles on the table, as they have found themselves in plenty of nations’ arsenals. ZAPAD-84 is looking like a very good buy for late Cold War and Ultramodern gaming, and so is definitely worth keeping an eye on via its preview page over on Kickstarter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anvil Digital Forge Shows Off The High Tech Sneaking Suits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once again showing they know how to run a Patreon, previews are out from Anvil Digital Forge<\/a>, and we have a collection of sneaky operator types. This month’s inspiration is very much Metal Gear Solid\/Splinter Cell inspired, and as you can see by the fully assembled figures above, there is a pile of possibilities. The preview goes into greater detail with the multi-meshing details and showing off all the parts, but it’s afe to say if you like MP7s, Maxim-9s or Mark 23s, then this is the set to pick up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who haven’t backed Anvil for a while, they have actually split up their tiers and moved primarily over to MyMiniFactory’s Tribes system<\/a>. Patreon now only consists of the Digital Bits Box, providing all the modular pieces. However, for those less interested in kitbashing but just wanting the sculpts, you can now pick a Single-Piece Figures Tier – it’s slightly cheaper than the modular\/Multi-shell one but still offers a tempting prospect for those just wanting some cool figures. The figures shown above will be launching in early November, so keep an eye out for them when they launch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Shows Off The CBRN Killteam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last week, we saw the previews of the MyMiniFactory and Vehicle releases from Modern Miniatures<\/a>, but we were missing visuals for the figure release. In the week since, Modern Miniatures<\/a> has finished sculpting and painted up the four figures coming in November for those at the Miniature release tier. The theme is operators in CBRN operators (all ready for a well-equipped trip into the Zone, perhaps?), rolling with Russian gear. Their weapons are all pretty well kitted out (optics, grips and more), giving you a pretty complete team. As you can see above, they look pretty good, and you can get your own when they launch in early November.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Turnbase Miniatures Previews Octover Release<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Turnbase Miniatures<\/a> has shown off October’s release, which will be going out to patrons soon. Suitable for spooky season, this month’s release is a unit for SCP, high-tech operators with a mixture of the high-end guns that Turnbase has in his collection. If you’re looking for some more teams for hunting down strange creatures, these guys are definitely ready for it. Tier 3 will be receiving some actual SCPs for you to fight, so stand by to get spooped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

WarDaddy Studios Releases Nato Infantry for 15mm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, for releases, WarDaddy Studios <\/a>has been hard at work on their adorable figures. This month saw a double hit, with updated NATO infantry and Special Forces being released on both Cults <\/a>and MyMiniFactory<\/a>. These figures may look a little different to what I usually cover, but the proportions are due to being intended for smaller scales, with two versions of both sets – one designed for 15mm to 28mm and another for 10mm and other Epic-sized games. The figures themselves are exactly what I would be looking for – plenty of distinctive kit to make them stand out, a variety of special weapons to support the infantry and even multiple poses for each weapon to build up your fireteams. I’ve already passed over a link to the Corporate Regular Opponent to look at as he is someone interested in gaming at the smaller scales, so maybe you might see them appearing on a tabletop soon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
