Spectre Miniatures Hits Black Friday Hard, Drops Full Platoon of British Infantry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Spectre Miniatures<\/a> this week showed off one of the flaws of running a news post that comes out every Tuesday – short notice sales get entirely missed. For Black Friday\/Thanksgiving, Spectre went hard with the sales, offering a 20% discount on everything in the store and a massive pack of every current Spectre Miniatures book for all their games for less than \u00a3100. There was also an exclusive figure (only available as a physical figure), giving a drone operator for the current SAS range (complete with FPV goggles over his eyes and KS-1 hanging at his side). Unfortuantely, these deals ended early Monday morning and not even a Cyber Monday bonus sale on STL files could stick around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

One thing that’s not disappearing quickly is the full British Infantry Platoon. This came out over on the Patreon <\/a>last Friday, delivering a command section and three separate rifle sections ready for printing (and my set is already undercoated and ready for painting). All the figures are with the current British Army weapons and gear, with each section coming with a different variant of the Virtus helmet (leafy scrim cover, scrim strips and entirely clean). According to the Patreon release post, the webstore will be seeing the four sets (as well as a few figures armed with the NLAW) later this week, available as both STLs and physical format. The post also mentions that the Brits will be seeing plenty of expansion; infantry will be getting a Recce Section, Sniper Section and a Javelin Section (everything you might need for a platoon+ action), while vehicles will include the previously shown Ajax and Ares, the Boxer and the Challenger 3. There are also some longer term plans, including a Jackal, Special Forces Support Group, Ranger Regiment and Royal Marines. This platoon release is already the largest single release for Spectre to date, and having seen the files, it is pretty impressive to see.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

BobMack3d Finishes ZAPAD-84<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Good news from BobMack3d <\/a>– ZAPAD-84<\/a> has completed it’s time on Kickstarter, clocking in at 1295% funded. This means we’ve got quite a few additional vehicles on top of the core four (T-80, BTR-80, MTLB, KAMAZ and SA-13), giving a pretty rounded release (although sadly we missed out on the SS-20 missile carrier). It will take a couple of weeks for all the cash to be gathered, but once it’s all sorted, we’ll be seeing the models coming out in tranches – some of the stretch goals are quite complicated, so there may be a week or two delay before the whole batch is made available for backers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Flank March Miniatures Prepares Final Reforger Drop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Kickstarters, the light is at the end of the tunnel for poor Steffan at Flank March Miniatures<\/a>. The final model for the REFORGER Kickstarter<\/a>, a downed US pilot in a flight suit and covered in additional gear, has been sculpted and sent off to be supported. We also have all the ancillary bits too – rucksacks and packs for those wanting to make their troops a little more long-range recon-y, while the set of Division markers earned through the social challenges will give a perfect print for use as Jumping Off Points or Patrol markers in Chain of Command or pieces for a larger-scale map game. The final wave of releases for REFORGER <\/a>should hopefully be out in time for Christmas, wrapping up the year of 1980s Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This does of course mean that Flank March can start thinking about next year’s project, adding another force from the other side of the Inner German border.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fire Modern Combat Running A Pre-Sale For First New Releases – Ending Soon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fire! Modern Combat launched their new website last week, and I missed out on a key part of the announcement – the first three parks are up for a limited pre-sale. The Civilian VIP pack<\/a>, Insurgent Marksmen<\/a> and US Rangers Marksmen<\/a> are currently available for a limited time pre-sale, which finishes on 03\/12\/25 at 23:59h (GMT +2 -Spain). All three sets come in white metal and will hopefully be dispatched just before Christmas. I’m assuming these figures will be available later, after the pre-sale is over (perhaps with a little delay), but I will provide more updates when I find out more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Imperial Terrain Releases MENA Building Pack<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A new arrival to the website, Imperial Terrain<\/a> (who seem to have mostly been working in a galaxy far, far away), popped up on my radar this week after seeing them talking about using Spectre Miniatures figures in the renders with permission. This new release is a pretty expansive set of generic MENA buildings<\/a>, giving a good mixture of simple single-level structures and larger multi-story locations to fight over. This is definitely an interesting set to see, giving more options for quickly getting a Middle Eastern setting on the board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Black Hills Games Releases PLA Specialists<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Coming in just at the end of November, Black Hills Games<\/a> has released a companion set to last month’s PLA riflemen. The Specialists bring with it seven new figures, with two grenadiers, two PF-89 users for light anti-tank work, a QJB-201 LMG and then a marksman team armed with the brand new QBU-191. There is a little bit of generation blending with the weapon systems, but if you want to run a full squad of PLA, the specialists are now available on the Black Hills Games Gumroad store<\/a> and MyMiniFactory<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the release post has mentioned that BHG has been working on his own tabletop wargame that we may start seeing details of in January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus Updates Series 121 With More!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Combat Octopus<\/a> is still hard at work on December’s MENA Fighters, but he has also finished off all three milestones for the Series 121 Project<\/a> from earlier this year. This modular project was to give you all the parts you’d need to assemble a full-size, fully playable Soviet style apartment block. This expansion has brought the set up to a massive number of tiles, with over 200 pieces to build whatever size structure in this style you want to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see from the selection of images above, there is a literal pile of new parts for many of the elements. One of the big pieces is updating the set to have a variety of levels of wear. There is also a wider selection of designs for things such as the balconies, but the additional room pieces should help if you want to build more unusual structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re interested in picking up the Series 121 project<\/a>, you can get it all for $55 before the project closes at the end of the year. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Modern Miniatures Drops December’s Releases – Back To Eastern Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Welp, it’s the second of the month and right on cue, Modern Miniatures<\/a> has released this month’s releases. Across both tiers on the Patreon and MMF Tribes, it’s a pretty sizable month!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scatter, Vehicles and Buildings tier feels very much like the next stage of the Escape from Drakov campaign<\/a>, giving you even more pieces for Eastern Europe. As you can see above, there is a good variety of pieces, ranging from the very present concrete walls, a terrigytin hunting post (ready for a scav to sit in) and the centre piece of the set, the multipart pylon. As someone with an MDF piece, I’d be very interested to see how it works to assemble, as the idea of being able to print multiple of them to really fill out a big board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the minaitures side, we have the previously shown CBRN Killteam. With Saiga-12, PP-2000 and a HK-79 grenade launcher, this set also has modular heads that are ideal for kitting up for the Zone (combining the gas mask with various helmets).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Over on MyMiniFactory<\/a>, this month sees a Leopard 2 MBT to accompany last month’s Boxer (as well as being a generally useful vehicle for European forces). As with all Modern Miniatures releases, the tank comes in multiple parts to make it easier to print, which should make it relatively easy to get a mass of armour onto the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re wanting any of these, you can get them on Patreon <\/a>or MyMiniFactory<\/a> now. Based on a discussion post, next month’s terrain post is going to be an underground bunker tile system. Ideal for building up a second board for when you go down into a bunker or similar setup, the system is still WIP so standby for more news.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Turnbase Miniatures Previews November’s Tier 2 Release<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, for this week, Turnbase Miniatures has dropped their preview for November’s release (which has been slightly delayed into December). This set is listed as 80’s PMC, but they are definitely inspired more by images of Delta Force in the 1990s protecting General Schwarzkopf. The set includes three AR15s, an MP5 and a short M14. No news when this set (or the Tier 3 set) is being released, but it should be relatively soon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
