That doesn&#8217;t mean that this edition is anything less than usual &#8211; there are plenty of previews and upcoming releases to get the Ultramodern wargamer excited. Even some stompy robots!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the final post of the year though &#8211; next week will see the release of the first issue of SPOTREP to Patreons over on the ChargeBlog Patreon. This will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of Ultramodern Wargaming, as well as an in-depth examination of over 23 different companies, many of which have appeared in this very series. Assembling this article has been a ton of work and is just the first step in creating a market research pack available for Special Projects and Logistics Group members &#8211; the aim is to provide anyone interested with both quarterly updates and in-depth company profiles, a one-stop shop to look at the Ultramodern market, a resource for both other companies and new fans. SPOTREPs will be released to the highest tier of membership when they are released but for this first edition, it will be available to News Fans as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there may be another post coming for the highest tier of Patrons, once I&#8217;ve smoothed out some Elements and prepared a render or two. They were the guests on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/9ZiP5lywVLc\">latest edition of The Plastic Crack Podcast<\/a>, with both Steve and Jess at Spectre joining the usual hosts. I haven&#8217;t had a chance to actually go through the podcast yet, but if you&#8217;re interested in hearing the latest from Spectre through their own words, then it may be worth a listen. It seems like everyone who has been asking for models to go with the Little Bird profile in various Spectre rulesets over the years will final get their wishes answered. This kit will be available as both transport and gunship variants, both of which will come with various options; the transport variant will have optional operators ready to disembark on landing while the gunship will have all the munitions Broken Arrows players will be used to &#8211; Miniguns, Hydras, Hellfire missiles and 30mm autcannons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently no details on when this will be coming out, but it is not this month&#8217;s drop (we&#8217;re still waiting for details on that). The Collaborative Combat Troop are the most visible departure from the modern day in the 2046 setting, giving both sides slightly larger than man-sized automated weapon platforms (or large stompy boys) to provide fire support without needing vulnerable vehicles or static weapon teams. The larger <a href=\"https:\/\/near-present.com\/28mm_anchorage_hound_cct.html\">Hound CCT<\/a> provides multiple weapons to support the western mercs of Anchorage, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/near-present.com\/28mm_hankou_zq44_cct.html\">smaller ZQ44 <\/a>is treated as a disposable asset by the eastern fighters belonging to China&#8217;s Hankou. Both of these vehicles are now available from <a href=\"https:\/\/near-present.com\/merch.html\">the Echelon store<\/a>, each arriving as a multiple-part kit. Developed by keen members of the BPRE community, a set of STLs to represent the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/black-friday-red-144626808\">buildings and terrain included in BRPE28 are now available from the Patreon<\/a>. I think this is a great addition to the releases that you can get &#8211; as much as you could print out the templates onto card, running them off on a printer is a great way to get your battlezones ready. Additionally, these STLs are perfectly designed for gaming &#8211; not only do they have the slots for all the doors you&#8217;d need, they also come in three parts &#8211; you can use just the layout and a small bit of wall, add full height walls or even put the roof on top if you want to fill your board with complete structures.
