Empress Miniatures Releases Ultramodern Ukrainian Civilian Militia
Slightly sooner than expected (Partisan isn’t for another few weeks), we have the release on the Empress Miniatures website of the Ukrainian Militia figures shown off a Salute a few weeks ago. Having now seen the theme with the new photos, you can see the mixed clothing look they were going for with this release, as a few extra weapons sneaking in that I missed on first glance (such as the prone figure armed with a suppressed AR10 pattern rifle). The other news to mention with this release is that all the figures come with heads attached, rather than some of the older releases such as the British or US Marines.
Enemy Spotted Studios Announce Squad 2 For Desert Fighters
After last month’s Enemy Spotted Tribes release being the IDF “inspired” Desert Fighters, this month adds a second pack to that range, giving you another six figures to your squad. While the first pack included a light machine gun and a light AT launcher, this pack includes another launcher as well as a Fur Missile to assist with close-quarters battle. These figures will be available to those signed up for the Tribes page during May.
Miska Miniatures Launches Zanganie Part 2 “Vox Populi”
Having launched last Friday, the latest Kickstarter from Miska Miniatures has already smashed its initial target and is storming through the stretch goals. Zanganie Part 2 – “Vox Populi” follows up the last Kickstarter with a focus on the civilian forces of Zanganie, the core pack comes with 8 civilians on foot, a civilian on a motorcycle and a Sedan shown previously on the NEwstand. The Stretch Goals is where things start getting interesting – along with some more additional civilians, Miska is joining the multi-part league with multi-part civilians, riot police and armed civilians as well as additional upgrades for each of them. There are also additional riot police parts implying things are going wrong in Zanganie.
If you’re interested in joining the Kickstarter (either for STLs or for physical figures in 28mm, 20mm or 15mm), it will be running through May 26th.
Black Site Studios Sends 1.0 to Breacher Pre-Orders
Pre-order customers of Black Site Studios‘s Breacher game received a very interesting email last week telling them that their pre-order has been updated. Well, this latest update was the release of the digital copy of Breacher 1.0, along with zip folders of images for all the various cards and tokens you’ll need. With the new edition, we get the lore of the setting at the start of the book, as well as the whole thing feeling more professional. The fulfilment date for Breacher is June 2024, so I’ll be keeping my eye open for when my digital pre-order ships.
Combat Octopus Continues Work On Heavily Armoured Octopods
Combat Octopus has continued working on the heavily armoured Octopods for next month’s release. First up, we have another body working from a plate carrier but with the same neck and shoulder protection that is going to be a landmark of each pack.
Second, over on the Ultramodern Discord, we’ve also had a first look at the new gun coming with this release, the SIG MCX. It also looks like we’re getting some new optics such as this Vortex Holographic. This should be a great new addition to the stockpile of toys to play around with, along with the other weapon mentioned in the initial pitch for this range, the Benelli M4/M1014 shotgun.
Flytrap Digital Shows Off Gunslinger Release For May And Launches Print-On-Demand
Flytrap Digital has shown off next month’s release for Gunslinger, expanding the Insurgents release from last month with a few more fighters and specialists to suit the game. Adding an HQ element and the Specialists (Advisor, Executioner, Martyr and Sniper) fills out the list of OPFOR from SoloWargamer’s Haywire, giving you all the figures you’d need for this particular faction.
Additionally, the existing Black Sector figures are going to be released for Print On Demand via Strange Plastic in the US. Available in the sets of six they were originally released in along with separate heads, these figures are ready to order now, with other Gunslinger sets being released over the next few months.
Modern Miniatures Drops Some Beauty Shots For May Release
Modern Miniatures is also preparing for this month’s release by showing off plenty of beauty shots for this new release, the NOVA Gas Station. Coming with both the forecourt, sign and kiosk with interior, these shots also show off a few other things that MM has been working on, such as figures for both criminals and police and a wide variety of vehicles.
If you want to see exactly what’s coming with the release, the renders are a good preview of everything included. The interior comes with all the parts you’d need for the petrol station, as well as parts ideal for use in other shops or urban areas. There are also plenty of great details, all properly supported for the resin parts and FDM parts suitable for supportless printing. These kits will be coming out at the start of May, so all ready to sign up then.
Turnbase Miniatures Releases Previews For March and April
Turnbase Miniatures also has some previews for us, covering March and April’s releases (yep, they are still running behind schedule). The set on the left is the Mosul SWAT team figures designed after the team from the film Mosul and you can definitely see the inspiration. On the right, you can see April’s release which will be African Militia. No details on when these figures are getting released (or when older releases will be supported).
Urban Scatter Gaming Releases Hospital Set
Finally, Urban Scatter Gaming has released the pack for April – the complete set of hospital decorative items. As well as the items announced last week, there are even more items to fill the setup, such as cleaning equipment, monitoring equipment and (if you need to make things grimmer) body bags. This pack is out now for Patrons and will be on the Gumroad soon.
In potentially less good news, Urban Scatter Gaming ended the update with a note that details on the future of the Patreon will be coming soon. Good to see him keeping to the tradition of posting important news JUST after I set this post live!
