Yesterday was Vapnartak in York, the first show of the calendar for many hobbyists. Operating out of the racecourse and spread over 4 floors, the show usually has a good mix of traders, well-put-up games and a thick and fast bring-and-buy sale. This year things definitely felt a little quiet, with a lot of the major traders (including Empress) that would usually pack the floor not taking up their spaces.

.
However, I was not a mere punter; instead, I turned up to sell a whole bunch of my MDF. If you haven’t seen my ongoing sales page for my MDF shenanigans, I have been clearing out my collection of unpainted/partially painted structures as part of the move to 3D printing. Despite some success in shipping out big chunks of it, I was starting to get bored of them taking up space. So for the low cost of a few hours and under ยฃ10 of table fees, I was away to the races (quite literally)!

And by the end of three hours, this is what I had left. There were definitely some absolute steals to a few people (and quite a few people trying to work out how to get their purchases home) but there were also a lot of people talking excitedly about what they were doing. This is much more exciting than getting rid of it all in a skip, and I’m happy that my purchases will live on.
I’ll be updating the MDF list soon and once it’s cleared out, I’ll start selling the older metal model collection.
