It’s Adepticon week, so I hope you’re ready for a pile of Stand numbers to guide you where to go. For everyone else not descending on Milwaukee, we have plenty of previews from Spectre Combat Octopus and Modern Miniatures to fill in your week with.
As always, thanks to the News Fans and other patrons over on the ChargeBlog patreon for buying my time to make this wrap-up each week. If you like these roundups and find them useful, why not chip in on the Patreon?
Spectre Miniatures Prepares The Hounds

First up this week, Spectre Miniatures has been teasing the next set of releases we’ll be seeing at Adepticon this week. Both the recent SAS sets and the Agent QRF set will be receiving some canine assistance from both military working dogs and handlers in each style. There are some nice details across all four figures that make them stand out from many of the figures we’ve seen before – the dogs are especially detailed, with two different styles of harness on the pair of good boys.

We also had another preview from the Spectre Instagram which, as well as the handlers seen above, we also got a glimpse of an Agent QRF figure rolling a Knight Universal Shield. This is a modern style ballistic shield, smaller and lighter than many of the traditional options but better suited for a pointman who still needs their mobility (in a similar way to the BZT-75 used by Russian Special Forces). The Universal Shield has seen some use by Counter-Terrorism teams such as the French Search and Intervention Brigade, and so it makes sense for the Agent QRF set.
If you’re at Adepticon, you can find Spectre Miniatures at Stand 702, just across from Black Site Studios at 605.
Black Powder Red Earth Prepares For Adepticon

Also at Adepticon is Echelon Studios with BPRE 28mm. You can find them in Stand 908, where you’ll be able to meet the team behind the game, receive a demo of how the game plays and even pick up a box to start playing yourself. There is also a BPRE28 Spearhead event on the 27th if you have your own forces ready to go, perfect for pitting yourself against the rest of the community.
Echo Dark Studios Prepares For Adepticon

Just across the passageway from the guys above, Echo Dark Studios has their stand. With piles of the new two player starter kit (as you can see above), Stand 1003 will let you get your hands on the updated and re-released INCOUNTRY, complete with new sculpts and newly printed books. There will also be vehicles to buy, as well as some event exclusive figures. No information on when the re-release will be available for everyone not in Milwaukee, but we should expect a wide release soon.
Combat Octopus Has The SSO On The Advance

Good news from Combat Octopus about the second set of SSO in Syria that will be released next month – the figures are almost done! There is still a chunk of work to finish off the set (including additional heads and parts) but as you can see above, we have all four poses assembled with new heads, weapons and more. I really like the fact that Combat Octopus has effectively paired the poses up, tying them together to look even better on the tabletop. These guys will be releasing in April, but if you want more combat poses, you can already get them on the Patreon right now.
Modern Miniatures Prepares April’s Releases

Modern Miniatures has also been hard at work on his releases for the upcoming month. Over on the recently launched MyMiniFactory Tribe, next month will give you this set of Abandoned Cars (complete with tarpaulin covering and piles of rubbish). I’m not sure if this is the full offering or merely a part, but it is an interesting addition to the range.

For the Patreon backers, we’ve had the renders released of the various South American farm parts that will be included. The centre piece is naturally the farm building (complete with a roof the perfect shape to jump a motorbike off), but I am a big fan of the farm tractor, one of those perfect scene setting pieces that are often overlooked. The water tower and silo will help to build up the whole area, while the tyre pile is a tweak to break up line of sight and change the vibe of your battlefield. These sets will be out next week, as well as some additional pieces that Patrons will get a discount on.

Finally, we have a release up on MyMiniFactory. This set of modular pedestal gun mounts, ideal for equipping technicals, boats or even defensive positions with. There are three different heights of pedestal, as well as a clip for mounting lighter weapons (such as the machine guns and rifles shown above) while heavier weapons for the most part, already have the correct mounting hardware. It’s a perfect piece for the toolbox, especially when combined with the pile of suitable platforms that Modern Miniatures has already released.

If you want to support my work on gathering the news together, my Patreon is the best way to keep things going. With a minimal cost of £1 a month, every little helps to keep the news spigot flowing and to let me cover more of the suppliers out there.
Of course, if you are a REAL news fan, there is a brand new tier called, shockingly, News Fan. For £5 a month (or £1.25ish a news post), you can guarantee you’ll get your weekly dose of news updates.
If you think the news is only okay but would like to see me actually do something slightly more unique, you can join the ChargeReal Researchers. For only £7.50 a month, you’ll get to see first insight into the ongoing world of the ChargeReal, as I detail my fictional Ultramodern setting. Researchers will also get thanked in the final product as well as some input into the ongoing work such as suggesting ideas and providing feedback.
