SITREP: Aftermath Team

|

After having had them sat in the “to be painted” trays for a while, I finally pulled out the Aftermath team from Spectre. I will admit, this is a team that I bought, looked at and went “What a nice team, no idea what I’ll do with them”.

However, I felt in the mood for something simple to paint so I grabbed the guys from the top of the tray and…. remembered that the end of the RPG gunner’s AK had been snapped off. Luckily, I had a TBM AK74SU I could cannibalise and patch him up.

Painting wise, most of these figures seem to be done in yellow. I however have seen a few suits in light blue and quite like the overall looking, a nice change from the brown. I did my blue in two layers over the black undercoat, working up from GW Kantor Blue to GW Calgar Blue, giving it a nice look I’m really happy with. This was taken a step further by the fact I went back over the blue with a drybrush after washing it, keeping it nice and vivid The gloves are a purple wash over white, giving it the slightly stressed look.

Overall, this is a fun team to paint up – I think we’re really missing an opposing Task Force Operator team in full MOPP suits but I can see a use for these guys doing a heist on a chemical factory. I shall have to ponder it further…

Those look great. The blue really works for them.

Wish they were back in production as I’m after some for Zona Alfa- are Spectre working on a FOMO business model..?

    Cheers,

    Pete.

It does seem to be that way at the moment – taking a lot of time to bring all their stock levels back up.

Would also be nice to see an actual release from them sometime soon :v
