This week has been a busy one, both for me personally and the hobby in general. Alongside Gunslinger releasing Kojoti Wave 2 and the new Kickstarter, we’ve also seen releases from Combat Octopus and Modern Miniatures, alongside a whole load of previews!
As always, thanks to the News Fans and other patrons over on the ChargeBlog patreon for buying my time to make this wrap-up each week. If you like these roundups and find them useful, why not chip in on the Patreon?
Good lord it’s been a busy week for Gunslinger!

First up, we have the Gunslinger SOG Kickstarter that launched on Thursday. We’re currently storming ahead through the stretch goals, already adding some more North Vietnamese figures to patrol up and down the trail. We have some more goodies coming, including some figures armed with different weapon systems, and even some troops in contact for when things go horribly wrong.
If you’re interested in joining in and getting your own set of SOG and PAVN, the Kickstarter is running until the 7th of December, with plenty of extra figures coming with the unlocked Stretch Goals. You can join over at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/flytrapfactory/gunslinger-sog.

Also earlier this week we released Kojoti Part 2, delivering you the weapon specialists and leaders needed to get your gang of rough mutts into shape. We’re really happy with how these figures have turned out, nailing the aesthetic of the Wagner troops in Syria we were aiming for but updated for the near future. The Deep Dive on them is coming soon, although certain events.
Additionally, we have some big news for our Patrons about the direction for Gunslinger in the new year. It’s exclusive for the patrons at the moment but it’s a change I think everyone involved is excited to be making and opens up for some really cool things next year.
Spectre Shows Off The Taskforce Operators

After Spectre’s release last week, we’ve had a few more beauty shots of the latest Task Force Operator figures working their way from some of the studio’s rather lovely board (and Black Site Studios terrain).

Spectre has also shown off some concepts for reference cards for its new ruleset. We’ve seen similar things made by the community for the previous version but it looks like Spectre is investigating possibilities of an official set. With the sheer amount of gear and items available for your elements in the new ruleset, I think this would make a very useful addition to the playing aids.
ESS Announces Next Month’s Tribes Release – Escape From INCOUNTRY

Enemy Spotted Studios has revealed the details of next month’s release on their Tribes. You might have seen this set in the initial InCountry Kickstarter last year but now you have a chance to get them as STLs to print for yourself. These figures are inspired by a popular extraction shooter, with two of the boss characters and a set of operators ready to push through whatever region you pick, from the Streets to Customs.
Combat Octopus Releases Pack 2 for the VIP and Security Set

We’ve been previewing Combat Octopus‘s work for the last few weeks, but now we have the final release. Giving you four bodyguards in combat poses and a female VIP, this set is the ideal second part for last month’s set. As well as the poses, the new heads are all sculpted with earpieces on (perfect for the slightly more professional look) as well as a familiar-looking one to give you some concern if he gets his hand on some stationary. As with all Combat Octopus releases, all the figures involved are modular letting you mix and match bodies and legs to get your own squads.
Modern Miniatures Releases Breached Wall Markers

Modern Miniatures has released a set of markers to show breached walls, ideal for when you feel the need to perform some dynamic entry. These markers are on the MMF store, all ready for you to download and change the layout of your battlefield with all the explosive toys.
Urban Scatter Gaming Shows Off Some Range Toys

Urban Scatter Gaming has also been working hard, creating some props ideal for decorating a firing range. With both VTAC barriers for you to position up on and targets down range, I’m interested to see what else is coming in this set when it comes out.
Miska Miniatures Shows Off Stretch Goals for Le Coup

With the success of the “Le Coup” Kickstarter, Miska Miniatures has been hard at work on creating the stretch goals. Above you can see two examples – a PKM team on the left (including a micro-uzi loader which is pretty glorious) and a set of seated passengers for the Land Cruiser unlocked thanks to the target goal being achieved. The estimated release date on the Kickstarter is the end of the month, but we’ll see once the rest of the items are finished.
Turnbase Miniatures Shows Off A B&T

Have an operator with a B&T APC9K from Turnbase Miniatures – I guess we’ll see the theme on release day but it seems very “Modern figures with interesting guns”.

If you want to support my work on gathering the news together, my Patreon is the best way to keep things going. With a minimal cost of £1 a month, every little helps to keep the news spigot flowing and to let me cover more of the suppliers out there.
Of course, if you are a REAL news fan, there is a brand new tier called, shockingly, News Fan. For £5 a month (or £1.25ish a news post), you can guarantee you’ll get your weekly dose of news updates.
If you think the news is only okay but would like to see me actually do some hobbying, then you can join the Board of Shadowy Figures for £7.50. This group will, before the start of every month, vote from a selection of mini-projects I have in the pipe and tell me which one to work on this month. I’ll then do my best to work on it and by the end of the month report back with my success or failure in a little post. If that sounds exciting, it’s available for you!
