Oh no, he’s back to writing news posts
Combat Octopus has released this month’s figure set today. It was definitely an eagerly awaited one, especially as for a long time CO had said that doing Regular US Army was not on his list of goals (seeing as they have been pretty widely covered). However, times change, the masses demand and so Patrons backing him in April are getting this set of modular STL parts for some US Army figures, specifically for Iraq in 2007.
The release was slightly later than planned but CO has been providing updates along the way, both via the Patreon itself and through his channel on the Ultramodern Discord. These previews also allowed for some back and forth about some of the specific details both for accuracy and gameplay purposes.
As always, there are four poses in the pack, each split into (roughly) four parts – head, torso, gun and legs. This gives plenty of modularity, especially as the cuts in this set mean you should be able to mix and match. The four figures are the building blocks of a US Army fire team – a team leader advancing, a soldier firing from the shoulder, a SAW gunner at the low ready and a Grenadier on the move. Upgrading to the Sergeants level gives you additional options – the low-ready pose now could have a rifle, the firing pose can choose a SAW, all to give you wider options. The Sergeants level also adds some extra heads – four with goggles equipped and four with AN/PVS-7 night vision goggles.
If you’re interested in joining the Patreon, you can find it at https://www.patreon.com/combatoctopus/. Additionally, next month’s release will be an addon pack for this release, giving you some poses on patrol as well as some other goodies.
