Another week has gone by so it’s time for a new update. I’m going to be brutally honest, this week was definitely not a big hobby one. Due to preparing for a family visit (and getting the house sorted), I spent most of the week tidying my hobby stuff away rather than using it. The visit went well though and a clean house means a clean mind.
Speaking of housekeeping, let’s talk about the blog.
The MDF sales are still up. I’ve actually posted out a few buildings this week – if they have survived their trip to a reasonable degree, then I’ll be open to more postage options. I’m also about to add a set of paint racks to the post, after a few people have first refusal
Additionally, the Patreon-only post is still up for those interested. I’ve had some good comments on it and it’s definitely given me some food for thought in my own Blender adventures. For example, when I reach the stage I’m confident enough to work on actual figures, the hero concept I had is going to be a starting point to implement my ideas. But you’ll need to read the article for more details.
The password to access it is available over on the ChargeBlog Patreon. It’s available to all paid patrons so for as little as £1, you can take a read at the idle thought experiment I’ve come up with.
So what hobby did I actually do? Well, it’s mostly construction for ongoing projects. In terms of Necromunda, I’ve printed out a few more tiles to hopefully build up to a small board ready for when the Necromunda season starts. This setup has a mix of the Dragon’s Rest specific ones (with the tabs for walls and corners) along with the more GW designs with the raised details. I’ve mixed them together here for more of a street setup, with an L-shape of relatively open ground to mix with the more built-up areas. Once I finish printing off the last four pieces, then I’ll get to work on the walls, steps and gantries – all ready for people to plummet off.
The project I should be finishing is painting up all my Old World Chaos figures for this week’s game. However, I’m feeling a real big painting funk at the moment – my head space isn’t in the right mood to sit down and get paint on model. However, I’m hoping to dig through a fair few this week (especially as the Corporate Regular Opponent isn’t around to distract me at lunch) so maybe a chunk of my force will be painted. Luckily the game day isn’t strict about painted models only but it would be nice if more than just a single unit was ready to go. We’ll see how I do in next week’s post!
That’s it for this week, with a new update coming next Sunday.
