As always, thanks to the members of the Special Projects and Logistics Group, News Fans and all the other patrons over on the ChargeBlog patreon – they buy my time to make this wrap-up each week, letting me take the time to gather all the news, check the details on them and prepare them in one single place. Spectre Miniatures Plans For September and Prepare Some Hostile Civilians

Kicking off this week, Spectre Miniatures has dropped some details of its plans for September. As you can see above, we’ve got our first taste of some Angry Civilians, one of three sets that Spectre is going to drop this month after delaying them from August. These are for those slightly surly types, the ones who aren’t going to start throwing hands but are definitely not happy to see your operators (in comparison to the protesting civilians who are ready to kick off). They are designed to be non-region specific, allowing for plenty of use. No details on when these guys are coming out, but they are not the only release we’re getting this month.

In an earlier post this week, we got a heads up that we’ll be getting some more Aftermath figures. There will be more figures in the Stalker/Post-Apocalyptic style we have seen in the welcome pack, expanding your options for sneaking around the wasteland. And just as well – it seems that Spectre is working on a standalone Aftermath ruleset which may be interesting to those of you visiting the zone. More details as they are released.

BobMack3d Previews The T-80BVM

The latest update from Bobmack3d shows off the next vehicle from the Tanks of the Ukraine War Kickstarter. The T-80BVM is the most recent update to the classic T-80, bringing updated fire control, sights, main gun and other systems to bring it into the modern day. The model that Bobmack3d has prepared also includes a turret variant with the overhead protection that many Russians are adding to their vehicles, letting you really capture the vehicles currently in use. As with all the other vehicles in the Kickstarter, these vehicles are designed for everything from 1/300th all the way up to 1/100th, ideal for microarmour games. If you’re interested in getting your hands on this vehicle and plenty of others, you can sign up for the Kickstarter at it’s preview page before it goes live on October 7th.

Urban Scatter Gaming Makes More Of A Meth

Urban Scatter Gaming has continued his work building up the Meth House he has been working on, and we’ve now reached the detail stage. As you can see above, there are plenty of shelving options, containers, boiling vessels and more. There is even a multiple-part ventilation system, complete with a vent to the outside world, truly giving everything you need to make an urban meth lab. The lab itself is designed to be fitting for both a high end professional set up and a very bad idea for those more homebrew. The lab will be available in a bundle with the main house but if you’re more interested in some run down housing for your post-apocluptic or crime game, then the building will be available seperately (in all it’s broken tile and mashed window glory). To keep up with this great-looking project, you can either follow the Urban Scatter Gaming Patreon or follow the surprisingly dog-filled channel on the UWG Discord.

Combat Octopus Releases Part 2 Of Navy SEALs

After several weeks of awesome previews from Combat Octopus, this week we got the release of Part 2 for the Navy SEALs in Iraq. While set one was stacking up, this sees the SEALs in action. As with last time, there is a metric ton of weapon options to play around with, as well as a few cool little additions on the fully equipped figures – yep, that’s an M79 on that guy’s back.

As always, the set comes with four poses. Each pose has a non-modular figure, a fully loaded set of legs and torso (including some unique kit), the blank torso and legs for modifying and then five weapons to pick from. As well as two variants of the MK18 (suppressed and unsuppressed), we also have some M4s, some MK48s for suppressing fire, multiple SR-25s to build marksmen and then (as a surprise) three figures with suppressed MP5s. This basically means you can use the same basic figures

Finally, as with all the sets, there is a pile of extra heads and pouches. The heads are a bit more tooled-up than the first set, coming with either NVG mounts or actual NVGs mounted. There is also one head with shades, goggles and a balaclava, so you KNOW that guy is operating. The pouches include a dump pouch and a 7.62 mag pouch, as well as three options for MP5 users (open, closed and empty).

Overall, this is an excellent second half for the Navy SEALs, giving you plenty of figures for special weapons in combat poses. Combine this set with the other US Army of the same era, and you could have plenty of parts to play around with to make some unique operators. Even if you just grab this set and use the pre-built figures, it’s a great set to play around with. If you want these guys for your own collection, you can find them over at the Combat Octopus Patreon.

(Additionally, if bought last month’s Navy SEALs, they have been updated on MyMiniFactory with some tweaked MICH helmets. You should have them in your library.)

Modern Miniatures Previews The Drone Factory

Modern Miniatures has been hard at work on this month’s terrain theme – Drones! Well, to be more accurate, a drone workshop, a multiple-part project full of little items he can hammer out. We’re only a few days into September, but he has already dropped a pile of stuff. Starting with the drones themselves, we have both FPV and Commercial drones – each one comes with multiple variants (including a selection of munitions waiting to be dropped) as well as separate power packs. To assist with control, FPV goggles have been provided – both to scatter around the workshop and as a separate head for Modern Miniature’s range of figures (and probably others too).

But the drone workshop needs more than just drones. From left to right, we have a collection of lockers, workbenches and more, a desktop PC for all your slicing/programming needs and…

Yo dawg, I heard you like 3d printers, so we got your a 3d printer so you can 3d print while you 3d print.

Yeah that’s both a filament and a resin printer (including seperate covers) and even filament rolls and resin bottles to scatter around. Finally, I have the parts to setup the most dangerous envrioment, my 3d printing room. More seriously, this is a neat release, and I’m interested to see what else comes out. These will be released next month, but if you want to see more previews, follow Modern Miniatures over on Patreon.

Turnbase Miniatures Previews August’s Release

Finally, the Turnbase Miniatures release fro August has been delayed so we’re only just seeing the previews for it now. Tier 2 should be out very soon, giving you a squad with… a unique selection of firearms (the modernised BAR makes me mad every time I see it). Tier 3 will be getting a set of military drones, but standby for more details on them.

If you want to support my work on gathering the news together, my Patreon is the best way to keep things going. With a minimal cost of £1 a month, every little helps to keep the news spigot flowing and to let me cover more of the suppliers, rules writers and inspirational creatives out there.

Of course, if you are a REAL news fan, there is a higher tier for the News Fan. For £5 a month (or £1.25ish a post), you can guarantee you’ll get your weekly dose of news updates and keep me going.

If you really want to help keep this site running, you can join the Special Projects and Logistics Group for £7.50 a month. This gives you access to a whole host of additional blog content – more in-depth analysis on the news, SPOT-REPs to act as a guide to the industry, updates on various projects I’m personally working on (such as the ChargeReal or Project Elements) or even more unannounced items coming soon. For less than £2 a week, this tier will make sure you see everything I get up to on the blog, perfect for someone wanting a finger on the pulse of the Ultramodern niche.
