Adventures in Wargaming

Half of June is over, the summer is basically here and there is a pile of new updates from Ultramodern Wargaming. Read on for all the latest in previews, releases and more!
Not every improvement I’m making this year is just about the figures I’m painting or the games I’m playing. I had planned to do some tweaks about how I present the figures I have and how I store them but through the process, I have actually managed to go a step beyond and open up some extra possibilities as to the type of projects I can attempt. First up, I’m trying to find a better way of showing off the figures I paint up. In the past, I’ve bounced between just having them on the painting desk to trying to…
Start as you mean to go on, or so they say. Feeling the general burnout of the Christmas season, I decided to take advantage of being an adult and instead (after apologising to my former housemate up in Middlesbrough and forgoing New Year shawarma) celebrate New Year’s Eve quietly, watching good films and sitting down to paint. One of the figures I’ve been really looking forward to painting is Vae Victis‘s Elf Fighter (from the December 2022 release). I genuinely think that Vae Victis is one of the best companies for someone with a 3D printer and wanting to collect…
I travel back in time every year thanks to my Google Photos account. It’s a strangely nice way of doing it – every snap, everything that I felt needed to be photographed is there. Every strange sign, weird snaps taken in the midst of DIY, reference material, random receipts – it’s all stored there. And, as you might expect from someone who has built a big chunk of his life around all things wargaming, it’s got a fair number of photos of tiny men in combat poses. One thing that is obvious from going through my photos is that this…

I am pleased to announce the sixth release of the new Gunslinger range from Flytrap Digital is available now, for those backing the Patron at the appropriate levels. It also includes our second character team, the High Risk Contractors. This release has been very exciting to work from, and we’re so happy to be able to show off what we’ve been working on for this month. The final two releases of the Kojoti phase are all based…

Well, the title has given away the big news. Gunslinger is changing for the better but first we need to talk about the Patreon for this month. As an introductory offer for the next iteration of Gunslinger (more details below) we’re offering this month’s membership at a new lower rate but still with the same 10 figures release as previous months. This month you’ll be getting six Kojoti Security figures searching for intruders, and a brand new Character team introducing you all to the High Risk Contractors. Fans of a certain series of games will probably recognise the facemasks and…
