Adventures in Wargaming

You can tell it’s summer as this week’s post is missing many of the big names (who I assume are taking a well-needed break). However, there are still plenty of exciting things to talk about, with releases, previews and more! Read on for all the details!
It’s the start of a new month so we have a pile of new things to look forward to from a wide variety of people. It’s a bank holiday here in the UK (yes we get two of them in May) but not even a holiday stops The News Stand. Since the last post talking Old World (and the minor update in the monthly project update) things have… escalated. At this stage I’ve managed to get all the figures I need for my 2000 points list, thanks to an assault on eBay and some careful pushes. The next step was to actually assemble them all. Seeing as the Dastardly Regular Opponent needed his introduction to the Old World and the Creative Regular Opponent offered to host/provide one of the forces, I would need to get my force together. Which means I’d need to rebase and break out the glue. First…
I spent most of the weekend away from home (mostly at the Tank Museum) but in the meantime, there seems to have been a fair chunk of updates going on in the Ultramodern world. As always, thanks to the News Fans and other patrons over on the ChargeBlog patreon for buying my time to make this wrap-up each week. It’s been a little while since I last posted a proper update about the ChargeReal project on this site – hobby times has been distracted by the arrival of The Old World in my group of Regular Opponents and so evenings spent printing resin and painting green have been replaced with assembling plastic and rebasing modern GW figures into a method that somehow lets them rank up properly. But that said, my brain is still focusing on building up the ChargeReal and in particular the Republic of Shyluz. Having announced the project earlier this year, I’ve been building up notebooks…
Start of a new month so we have a pile of new updates from across the board. Oh yeah, we’re doing this again. As much as I do my SITREPs and updates when things happen, sometimes you need that monthly update to keep your eye on the sheer number of plates you’re spinning. I’m going to write them at the start of each month, and do a quick once over what’s been done and what’s coming up. Tech Update Before we go into the juicy stuff, a little update on the behind-the-scenes. Two big things with the resin 3d printer at the moment – the first is that I’ve moved away from Elegoo ABS like in favour…
