Adventures in Wargaming

Half of June is over, the summer is basically here and there is a pile of new updates from Ultramodern Wargaming. Read on for all the latest in previews, releases and more!
Welcome to the fifth weekly update. This week, we go back to all those things I 3D printed and actually prepare them into a usable state (it takes way too long). I really hope you like Dwarves because boy there are many. Plus tanks! As well as that, a parcel arrives, I show you what’s in my hobby room at the moment and also prepare some things to give to friends.
It’s time for a new month, so let’s take a look at what I’m backing on Patreon. We actually have some movement on the list, adding some new friends and new models to what I’m able to take a look at. The funding I get over on Patreon for me helps me to afford to follow along with these guys and keep the 3d printer spinning, as well as provide new ideas and inspiration for blog posts and articles! Enough of the pitch, let’s get on with the update. Spectre’s Patreon in October was… fine? Maybe? I mean we got…
I have already talked much about my love for Skirmish Sangin, and having played V2 remotely over the last few months, I found my energy for it returned. However, I definitely found a few places where the systems in the Beta rules just didn’t seem to work, missing the point of the game or requiring far too much busy work for my tastes. And so I got to work thinking up some ways to take the game I adore. This has obviously taken some time – writing rules and working through the basics requires some thought. But, Call of Duty…
Time for Update 4! This week, we apply some paint to some Insurgents (but not finish them) and then spend the rest of the week writing blog posts because it’s the start of the month! Tune in for some gripping looks behind the scenes.
Dear god, where has the year gone? As an update, still fighting through the house shenanigans and waiting for some more paperwork to go through. That said, I’m still working to push forward, try out new things and keep on the grind for the old. I’m also feeling a little bit better about things in general – maybe its the tweak to my work week so I don’t spend it all by myself, maybe it’s that melancholic part of me that likes the colder days and listening to the rain coming down outside. Mostly because they give me an excuse…
One positive of tidying up in preparation to move house is going through my workshop/printing room and finding things I’ve 3D printed but haven’t yet had a chance to actually paint and get on the tabletop. Having owned a 3D printer for almost two years (that’s also concerning), I have had one or two things fall into this category. Looking for some easy wins, I dived in on these two projects I had discovered and quickly hammered them out. First up, we had these three Wood Elf monoliths from Last Sword Miniatures. These pieces were one of the things that…
Another week, another update – this time some painted Spectre insurgents as well as a few other things being mentioned. And then Modern Warfare 2 came out and I was distracted!
We’re onto week 2 of the updates, keeping the Youtube gods happy but also letting you see just what I’ve been up to. Dwarf 3d prints and some stuff on the paint table finished off by picking up a new toy for helping to make these videos a little easier to watch. See you all next week for the next part!
