Adventures in Wargaming

The week has ticked over, so it’s time to cover all the latest in the world of Ultramodern Wargaming. New releases from Spectre, previews from Combat Octopus and many others, and even a sign of life from Haywire. Read on for more!
Finally, a quiet-ish week after the business of the last few. However, quiet does not mean dead and I have a pile of stuff to show off this week. Gunslinger Reveals Blockade Team Burya-156 World exclusive (unless you’ve been on the Flytrap Digital Patreon) but I can reveal the Character Team coming with this month’s release for Gunslinger. This team is the first from a new faction “Blockade” and its members are designed to go up against the Black Sector Global Interdiction figures released over the last few months as well as a very interesting team being released in the…
Brand new week, brand new set of Ultramodern news! As we enter September, it’s time for Patreon release week where the monthly subscriptions provide all the goodies you pay for. Stand by for a whole host of previews of all the new and exciting things! Gunslinger No significant updates from Gunslinger HQ this week – Flytrap Digital has been busy getting the releases for Warpod, Netherworlds Edge and Caveman Vs Wild ready for patrons and I’ve been getting the details all finished off for what Gunslinger patrons will be getting on the 15th. We’ve also been looking ahead for the…
Coming to you a day early because tomorrow I’ll be driving down the motorways of the UK to go see AEW at Wembley, it’s this week’s News Stand! And man, when I asked the industry to cool it for a week, they turned to me and gently whispered “no”. So lets cover it! Gunslinger First up, earlier today we dropped the Deep Dive on this month’s Gunslinger release, giving you more details on the Command and Support teams. You may notice they are all missing their heads, well it because the new headless models are kind of a pain in…
Last month, we were introduced to Black Sector and specifically the Global Interdiction Group. As well as looking at the Assault Team and the Breacher Team, we also looked at some more of Gunslinger’s Lore. This time, as we cover the Support and Command teams that make up the August release of Gunslinger over on the Flytrap Digital Patreon, we’re also going to touch on some other aspects of the Gunslinger Range, such as the impact of what modular heads can bring, the importance of Character models to the range and a little bit of the working process between Anton…
Welcome to the new version of The News Stand, delivering you a catch-up on the headlines in the Ultramodern Wargaming Scene. Usually, I’d do this weekly but seeing as I’ve been away for a bit, there is going to be a touch of catching up to do. The intention of the News Stand is mostly reasearch, keeping an eye on the tempo and flow of the Ultramodern market as it currently stands. But seeing as I’m gathering it all for my own use (and the Patrons need to be fed something), I might as well write it up for everyone…
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve properly sat down and talked about the hobby desk huh? The fact of the matter is that I’ve been busy. Not even hobby project busy, just life busy. There is always stuff on the house to do, as well as work and life getting in the way. There is of course also another giant piece of work that’s really been taking up my time (and filling in the gaps in the posting). Yeah, it’s Gunslinger. Okay, I’ve talked about it a lot. Like I say, it’s taken up a lot of my time…
I am pleased to announce the second release of the new Gunslinger range from Flytrap Digital is available now, for those backing the Patron at the appropriate levels. This release has definitely been a test of our systems and how much can be done in the time due to several issues (including the relocation of FOB Flytrap), but I think you’ll agree we’ve managed to drop the second part to the Black Sector Global Interdiction Group range with style, giving you two extra sets to expand out your range and fill in the capabilities. Before we can get started, disclosure…
Good news to all Patrons backing Gunslinger – the first month’s releases (the Black Sector Assault Team and Breacher Team) are now available in an updated and improved form. Following user feedback, Anton has been working like mad to get the files changed over, fighting real-world shenanigans as well as the regular monthly workload for both Gunslinger and the rest of the Flytrap range to get these changes done and into your hands. Frankly, the tonal whiplash between the bad news and the results over the weekend has been quite a lot, but he’s been an absolute machine. The picture…
